Photoshop CS4

Why can't we save a file in JPEG format in Adobe Photoshop CS4, other than having to go for 'Save As' option and work in 8 bits channel? I find it pretty odd for an image editting software to not allow file saving in a format that people mostly used for saving their editted images. Does anybody has a logical explanation for this?

After spending Saturday afternoon working in front of CS4 and used Digital Photographer and Digital Camera magazines as guides, I managed to do this:

Before.

After.

It would definitely take me more than 30-days of trial to figure out the whole CS4 but until then, I shall make full use of it as a temporary replacement to the more practical although far less tooled, PhotoFiltre. When a friend came over for a cuppa that afternoon, I decided to continue my CS4 tutorial until this coming weekend. I am far too busy to spend week nights on my laptop these days.

Did I tell you that I have started my marathon training?

hi flo,im just found it interesting though when it comes to cs4,its pretty tricky for me as a graphic student even though its a same thing.im usually use cs3 when im gonna do some work cause its a lot easier to use and to save the work, and its easy to save it into jpeg.have to admit my lecturer tends to tell us to save it into a format like tiff etc. cause they say the quality is a lot more nicer then jpeg.but who cares ,jpeg isnt tricky to open & to view.anyway, good luck on ur tutorial.i tend to learn a lot by myself from the online tutorial, which is including the video.:) have a nice day, sorry for my bad eng!!

Hi Charlene,

I love experimenting with photo editing softwares although I still feel guilty about 'cheating' a little bit! Don't we all love nice pretty pictures? :-)

It does take time to learn about the whole software. I would have used the phrase 'what's the rush' if I didn't have this trial version! :-P

Thanks for dropping by Anon,

The experts did come with a summary of a better photoshop version when accessing CS3. Of course being a much simpler version helps! Hmmm... I do wonder how much they differ from each other.
